One kind of existential anxiety about the future arises from two reagents:
1. We feel that what has happened will happen again.
2. We are biased to think most about the bad things that have happened.
Therefore, the future holds bad things.
Consider the Sunday scaries. They're often caused not by a particularly difficult impending work week but by the far more crushing "this again".
For (1), Stoicism and reframing. For (2), mindfulness, gratitude, and persistently prioritizing joy.
